Cycle tracking for contraception (part 3): the community & movement

Growing & expanding cycle tracking culture

These days, the cycle tracking movement has expanded to a much broader community. There are various methods, increasing scientific papers, technological apps, social media groups, and a growing professional field of fertility awareness educators.

Apps & tech

Apps and tech advancements have been amazing to enhance convenience and knowledge. But they can also have dangerous and problematic parts like data privacy issues, further attachment to our devices and reliance on algorithmic predictions that could be wrong, and companies that value profit over full transparency and disclosure for informed consent.

Still not common knowledge

Even though so many more people know about cycle tracking for contraception because of the internet, there’s still widespread misunderstanding about this information that everyone should have learned in basic sex-ed.

This scientifically-backed fundamental information about the menstrual/ovulation cycle is still far from common knowledge, even in the medical field.

Those who love FAM often become passionate advocates because of the life-changing experience of learning to track their cycles.

I’ve been grateful to connect with so many fertility awareness educators, cycle awareness advocates of all kinds, menstrual magic witches, and embodied ritual cyclers.

Healing my younger self in community

It’s been such a healing experience for my younger selves to be in co-creation with the educational content and containers of support that I wish I had through my youth.

I’m so grateful as an adult to have come into community that is committed to cycle tracking & spreading awareness.

I’m excited to be part of this growing movement.

I’m excited to connect with more and more of those of you who are part of this movement!
